HealthWare Solutions is pleased to announce that it has already prepared and implemented the new NEMSIS minimum data requirements. As of now, there are 45 states that have formally agreed to promote and support the system. HealthWare Solutions wants to be prepared to serve it’s clientele in every way possible and is therefore taking a proactive stance on the issue.

What is NEMSIS, and why is it important?

The National Association of State EMS Directors is working with its federal partners at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Trauma/EMS Systems program of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) to develop a national EMS database. Such a database would be useful in developing nationwide EMS training curricula, evaluating patient and EMS system outcomes, facilitating research efforts, determining national fee schedules and reimbursement rates, addressing resources for disaster and domestic preparedness, and providing valuable information on other issues or areas of need related to EMS care.
