Following is the latest update on our progress repairing the EMS Solutions Suite PCR ID issue first identified on January 1, 2010.

We are pleased to have developed a solid patch for the software that eliminates the date/time issue and allows our clients to resume business as usual once installed.

Over the past 24 hours we have tried to contact each and every one of our clients who are currently using this software, first to mitigate the effects of the problem and then to provide access to the patch to relieve the problem altogether. While we have reached out to 100% of our clients, there are still a few that we have not been able to reach directly. If you have not spoken directly with one of our management team and need access to the patch, or if you have additional questions, please contact us at 707-845-1940 or via email at 2010FIX@healthwaresolutions.com.

Again, our team is committed to providing you with the information and support you require to deal with this issue. We are monitoring the situation continuously and will continue to do so until its conclusion.

Please continue to visit our website for daily updates or as they become available.

To: EMS Solutions Suite 2000 Users

Your agency may experience difficulty when attempting to create a PCR as of midnight January 1, 2010 with your EMS Solutions Suite ePCR software due to an error in the program inherent to the PCR ID generator. For example, you may find that once a PCR is saved on this date, subsequent PCRs are assigned the same PCR ID. At this point the system will cease to function due to primary key constraints and will give the user an error message to this effect.

We are aware of this issue, its origin, and the work required to rectify it in a timely manner

During the interim, we suggest that you use the Practice PCR option to create PCRs and print multiple copies to suit your Agency’s needs. Please note this work-around will NOT store any data entered on the keypad. However, it will maintain the integrity of your documentation protocols in the same order and format that your crews are accustomed.

We do not advise rolling back the date as this could cause other issues in your system such as: inaccurate date/time stamping, inaccurate date/time for vitals and procedures, data queries will pull the call date (auto-generated on creation of record), the date of birth will calculate incorrectly, and most importantly, records could either be overwritten at the server level (since they may share the same PCR ID) or be unavailable for upload due to conflicting data errors.

Please know we are working diligently to correct this problem and are making every effort to expedite a resolution for this PCR ID issue. We will be contacting each Agency today with further information and in the coming days or as soon as a permanent fix becomes available.
